We like to get away to our second home when we really need to relax. Sometimes heading out of town ended up to be more hassle than it was worth. In the winter, the house would be freezing and took a while to warm up once we arrived. In spring or early summer the pool would take half of our vacation just to heat up enough not to send my kids shrieking. Also, we usually forget how to use half of our equipment up there and end up fighting through a stack of remotes.

“Getting away” finally became possible when we decided to use the CYTEXONE automated system. Now before we leave for our second home, we go online and raise the temperature in the house or the pool or even start the Jacuzzi. When we get there, the house is welcoming and cozy. When we want to watch a movie or play some tunes, we have the remote downstairs and a wall unit upstairs. It is all set up and easy. And when we leave to head back to the city, it doesn’t matter if we forget to shut the lights or the heat, cause the house is smart enough to take care of that for us.

I have always loved technology so once I got my own place and had a decent job; I kind of went crazy purchasing new products. Before I new it I had the best of everything and had no idea how to really use it. I have these gorgeous plasma screens that no one has the patience to even turn on. It took longer to figure out how to put on surround sound than it did to actually watch a DVD—or at least it felt that way. I didn’t even use all the speakers I had installed cause it’s such a pain to chose my settings and find the right remote.

CYTEXONE came to my place and totally hooked me up. They used all of my existing products I spent a fortune on and combined them into one super easy system. I can control all of it with one remote. I also got the chance to program settings so I don’t have to readjust everything every time I want to use it. Even my house guests get to easily enjoy my apartment now.

I have a six year old who is normally well behaved. One afternoon this summer I made the mistake of leaving him home alone for a few minutes while I ran down the street to the post office to meet a deadline. I plopped him in front of his favorite movie and told him I would be back in ten minutes.

I have no idea what he was thinking, but he decided he wanted some eggs. Climbing on a chair, he lit the stove, which immediately ignited a dishtowel that was carelessly left near the flame. He flew off the chair in surprise and ran to the living room. Within seconds, I had a text message alert on my cell phone that there was a fire. My ceiling fans automatically shut off to prevent spreading the smoke throughout the house. I was also immediately notified that the fire department was on the way. I sprinted back to my house to find my son hiding in the living room, and grabbed a towel to suffocate the fire, which thankfully had stayed on the counter. The fire department was notified that the danger was over. If I hadn’t been notified immediately, who knows what would have happened. Needless to say, I put my son on restriction and thanked CYTEXONE for being on top of saving my house.

After living in several small apartments and cutting costs like crazy, Nancy and I finally built our dream house. The process was painfully long but we really wanted everything to be perfect—after all, we had worked very hard for this. When it came to the finishing touches, we really found perfection in the CYTEXONE system for home automation. We thought we would use our system mainly for home theatre and security, but having the lights, blinds, and heat slowly raised in the morning definitely takes the edge off. And as an added bonus- sprinklers that know it is going to rain? This is amazing! We not only feel safe and comfortable, but we really feel like our dream home is special.
